Common Questions

COMMON QUESTIONS

Do you accept insurance?

Yes,   we accept most major insurance plans. However, it is a good idea to   call your insurance company to check your specific plan benefits.  You   can also call our office staff who can help understand your benefits.

How does insurance work?

We   will bill your insurance for you, and your insurance company will pay   us directly.  You will be responsible for the balance the insurance   company does not pay.

How long does therapy take?

This   is a difficult question to answer because of  the diversity of   conditions we treat.  The length of therapy directly depends on  the   level of severity of the condition and the type of condition we treat.

What can I expect in a therapy session?

You   can expect a comfortable experience that is professional and   collaborative.  We utilize the most current techniques and research to   assist in accurate diagnosis and focused treatment.

Is therapy confidential?

The   law protects the confidentiality of all communications between a  doctor  and their patient.  Information is not ever disclosed without  written  permission.  We make every attempt to maintain our patients  privacy  above the laws of HIPAA

There are only several exceptions top this rule:

1.   Suspected child abuse or elder abuse. The doctor is required by law to   report the abuse to the appropriate authorities immediately.

2.   If the patient is threatening serious bodily harm to another person/s.   The therapist must notify the police and inform the intended victim.
3. If a  patient intends to harm himself or herself. The doctor will  make every  effort to enlist the patient's cooperation to ensure their  safety. If  the patient is unable or unwilling to cooperate, further  measures may be  taken without the patient's consent in order to ensure  their safety.
